Simonholt is pleased to welcome back to Nanaimo the entertaining and dynamic Ryan Oliver with a new Quartet at hand, September 24th. 7:30pm at the Simonholt Restaurant. 7:30pm.
Ryan Oliver is very well known to jazz aficionados across the length of Canada (and the world for that matter) for his work with the Shuffle Demons and his own Cookers Quintet as well as his appearance on numerous recordings.
As the CODA magazine noted, “A muscular jazz improviser, Oliver always stays on point.” Ryan, and his huge tenor sound need no introduction to jazz music in Nanaimo as he is a frequent and never disappointing performer in the Quadwrangle Music jazz events.
His current Quartet features Ryan Oliver (tnr. sax), the excellent Nick Peck (keys), Alex Coleman (bass) and Joe Poole (drums).
